Carpentry
OpenCore MES Carpentry suite: a cabinet and furniture shop as designs (jobs and their cabinets, a cabinet route whose steps are pages of its build book, guided glue-up and finishing with steps marked done, moisture and squareness checked, machine certifications, finish batches traced)
Free during the launch
Its price after the launch: $799, once per plant. A plant that takes it now keeps it, with its updates.
Per plant: one licence covers every installation of that plant (production, test, training), each with a licence token of its own.
Install it
- Make a licence token in your account, then in the plant folder:
flames suite login
- Install it, and restart FLAMES:
flames suite install carpentry
- Its designs are offered in the designer, as a change your plant reviews and approves like any other.
Set it up in your plant
Setting up Carpentry in your shop. Carpentry runs a cabinet and furniture shop: jobs built to an AWI grade, lumber released by its moisture, a nine-step cabinet route whose steps are pages of its build book, guided glue-up, spray finish and inspection stations, and machines only certified operators run.
- Install itIT
On the plant's OpenCore MES server, in its plant folder: sign in once with a licence token from your account at suites.opencoremes.com (one token per installation: production, test, training), install the suite, then restart OpenCore MES (opencore-mes start, or the service that runs it). The start log then lists it.

- Try it on a test installation firstIT
Install it on a test or training installation before production. There, load its sample records (Designer → From the suites → Load its sample records) and walk the screens with the people who will use them. Samples never go on production.
- Prepare People & departmentsAdministrator
The suite's designs give their roles to the groups production (the shop floor), quality (inspection and disposition) and engineering (jobs, models, master data). Check those groups exist in People & departments with the right people (or rename them in the change, next step), and that each department that must approve has its representatives.
- List the machine certificationsAdministrator
The change adds three certifications to People & departments: Panel saw, CNC router, Spray booth (respirator fit-tested). Record who holds each, valid until when (Organization → Certification), before go-live: Start on a machine refuses anyone without its certification.
- Take its designs through a changeDesigner
Designer → From the suites → Start a change from it. The change holds the grades, species, lots, finish batches, machines, models, jobs, cabinets, the step log and nonconformances, the cabinet route, the moves and the six screens, with their guides (PDFs). Change what differs in your plant before submitting (labels, fields, limits, screens). Run the fitness test: every transaction's scenarios run in a sandbox. Submit; a reviewer passes it; Production, Quality and Engineering approve it; it goes live as one change, all of it or none.
- Nothing goes live until it is approved: the suite only offers its designs.
- Once live they are your plant's own designs: they keep working if the suite is removed.
- Set your grades, species and machinesEngineering
Check the three AWI grades' tolerances (squareness, flushness, alignment, final grit, viewing distance) against your contracts; the squareness numbers are shop practice, yours to set. Enter your species with their moisture bands, your finish products, and your machines with their kind and the certification each needs.
- Put your own build book and guides inEngineering
Each cabinet model carries a build book PDF, one page per route step (cut, edge band, bore, dry fit, glue up, sand, finish, inspect, pack). Replace the example with yours, keeping a page per step, or change each route step's page (Flow designer → a sequence → In the guide at). The glue-up, spray and inspection stations' guides and steps are on their screens: change the steps' words, readings and photos to your shop's.
- Run a first jobProduction
Receive lumber and sheet lots (FSC claim, TSCA compliance for panels) and check their moisture; Engineering approves the job's drawings (signed) once the field measurements are verified; plan the cabinets; then each station: Start on a machine, the guide's steps marked done, Done here. Inspection's checklist is verified by Quality beside the inspector.
- Go liveQuality
Train each station on its screen, with its guide; watch the shop floor screen and nonconformances for the first jobs, and adjust the guides' steps where operators stumble.
The same guide is in FLAMES once the suite is installed: Designer, From the suites, Set-up guide.
Fitted to your process
Carpentry as it comes is a starting point your plant changes through its own designer. If you would rather we fit it to your products, stations, machines and systems, or build a suite of your own beside it, tell us what you make and how, and we answer with a quote.
