OpenCore MES Wafer fab suite: a 300 mm front-end fab, as designs (FOUP lots of 25 wafers, a CMOS route, recipes and reticles checked at track in, SPC with rework, queue-time limits, WAT, split and merge)

Free during the launch

Its price after the launch: $2,000, once per plant. A plant that takes it now keeps it, with its updates.

Per plant: one licence covers every installation of that plant (production, test, training), each with a licence token of its own.

Install it

  1. Make a licence token in your account, then in the plant folder:
    flames suite login
  2. Install it, and restart FLAMES:
    flames suite install fab
  3. Its designs are offered in the designer, as a change your plant reviews and approves like any other.

Set it up in your plant

Setting up Wafer fab in your fab. Wafer fab runs a 300 mm front end as designs: technologies and products, tools of twelve processes, recipes and reticles checked at track in, FOUP lots of 25 wafers on a CMOS route, SPC with out-of-control plans and rework, queue times, WAT, tool down and PM.

  1. Install itIT

On the plant's OpenCore MES server, in its plant folder: sign in once with a licence token from your account at suites.opencoremes.com (one token per installation: production, test, training), install the suite, then restart OpenCore MES (opencore-mes start, or the service that runs it). The start log then lists it.

    opencore-mes suite login
    opencore-mes suite install fab
  2. Try it on a test installation firstIT

Install it on a test or training installation before production. There, load its sample records (Designer → From the suites → Load its sample records) and walk the screens with the people who will use them. Samples never go on production.

  3. Prepare People & departmentsAdministrator

The suite's designs give their roles to the groups production (the floor), quality (holds and disposition) and engineering (recipes, tools, routes). Check those groups exist in People & departments with the right people (or rename them in the change, next step), and that each department that must approve has its representatives.

  4. Take its designs through a changeDesigner

Designer → From the suites → Start a change from it. The change holds the technologies, products, tool models and tools, recipes, reticles, FOUPs, lots and wafers, holds, the 29-step route, the SPC, WAT, queue-time, tool-down and PM plans, the moves and the screens. Change what differs in your plant before submitting (labels, fields, limits, screens). Run the fitness test: every transaction's scenarios run in a sandbox. Submit; a reviewer passes it; Production, Quality and Engineering approve it; it goes live as one change, all of it or none.

    • Nothing goes live until it is approved: the suite only offers its designs.
    • Once live they are your plant's own designs: they keep working if the suite is removed.
  5. Make the route yoursEngineering

Open the route in the Flow designer: rename, add or remove steps to match your process flow, set each step's process (which tools may run it), its SPC limits and rework targets, and the queue time. Each change is drawn, checked and scenario-tested before review.

  6. Load tools, recipes and reticlesEngineering

Enter your tool models and tools (their process), your technologies and products, a released recipe of each step for each tool model and technology, and your reticles per product and layer. Import them from Excel or your recipe system's export rather than by hand.

  7. Connect the tools (optional)IT

With the Equipment integration suite, tools report their states, alarms and wafers, and track-in can start their jobs (GEM300). Without it, the moves are entered at the stations.

  8. Start lots and go liveProduction

Start lots into free FOUPs; each area's station shows its dispatch list and the four moves. Quality handles holds from SPC and WAT; Engineering the tool-down and PM plans. Walk a pilot lot through every step before production lots.

The same guide is in FLAMES once the suite is installed: Designer, From the suites, Set-up guide.

Fitted to your process

Wafer fab as it comes is a starting point your plant changes through its own designer. If you would rather we fit it to your products, stations, machines and systems, or build a suite of your own beside it, tell us what you make and how, and we answer with a quote.
