OpenCore MES Semiconductor suite: back-end assembly and test, as designs (lots, wafers, routes, equipment, SPC, yield, split and merge)

Free during the launch

Its price after the launch: $1,500, once per plant. A plant that takes it now keeps it, with its updates.

Per plant: one licence covers every installation of that plant (production, test, training), each with a licence token of its own.

Install it

  1. Make a licence token in your account, then in the plant folder:
    flames suite login
  2. Install it, and restart FLAMES:
    flames suite install semiconductor
  3. Its designs are offered in the designer, as a change your plant reviews and approves like any other.

Set it up in your plant

Setting up Semiconductor (assembly and test) in your plant. Semiconductor runs back-end assembly and test as designs: products and their routes, lots and holds, equipment and test cells, materials and durables, preventive maintenance, and SPC with an out-of-control plan per process.

  1. Install itIT

On the plant's OpenCore MES server, in its plant folder: sign in once with a licence token from your account at suites.opencoremes.com (one token per installation: production, test, training), install the suite, then restart OpenCore MES (opencore-mes start, or the service that runs it). The start log then lists it.

    opencore-mes suite login
    opencore-mes suite install semiconductor
  2. Try it on a test installation firstIT

Install it on a test or training installation before production. There, load its sample records (Designer → From the suites → Load its sample records) and walk the screens with the people who will use them. Samples never go on production.

  3. Prepare People & departmentsAdministrator

The suite's designs give their roles to the groups production (the floor), quality (holds, SPC, QA) and engineering (products, routes, equipment). Check those groups exist in People & departments with the right people (or rename them in the change, next step), and that each department that must approve has its representatives.

  4. Take its designs through a changeDesigner

Designer → From the suites → Start a change from it. The change holds product families and products, equipment and test cells, test programs, materials and durables, lots, holds and hold codes, the back-end route, the OCAPs, maintenance and PM plans, the moves and the stations; and a Certified for field on the Person record. Change what differs in your plant before submitting (labels, fields, limits, screens). Run the fitness test: every transaction's scenarios run in a sandbox. Submit; a reviewer passes it; Production, Quality and Engineering approve it; it goes live as one change, all of it or none.

    • Nothing goes live until it is approved: the suite only offers its designs.
    • Once live they are your plant's own designs: they keep working if the suite is removed.
  5. Shape the route and its limitsEngineering

In the Flow designer, match the back-end route to your line: its operations, which equipment process runs each, the measuring steps' characteristics and limits, what each operation needs (magazines, materials, blades, setups, base plates, test cells and temperatures). Products name their route and test plan (cold, hot, burn-in).

  6. Load equipment, products and materialsEngineering

Enter your equipment models and tools, test cells, products with their bill of materials and test programs, materials and durables (with their lives and PM intervals), hold codes and their releasing departments, and PM schedules.

  7. Certify the operatorsProduction

On each operator's Person record, Certified for lists the processes they may run: Track in at wire bonding refuses anyone not certified.

  8. Go liveQuality

Start a pilot lot and walk it through every operation; check the holds each OCAP places and who releases them; train each station on its screen.

The same guide is in FLAMES once the suite is installed: Designer, From the suites, Set-up guide.

Fitted to your process

Semiconductor as it comes is a starting point your plant changes through its own designer. If you would rather we fit it to your products, stations, machines and systems, or build a suite of your own beside it, tell us what you make and how, and we answer with a quote.
